Live Streaming

Policy Clarification:

You may film the races, but you can only post them to a public forum or social media at the end of the meeting. No live streaming. This is for all meetings.

We hope this clarifies the “can we can’t we” questions and clears up some confusion as to when things can be posted.

Let’s also address some of the issues raised in the comments section:

1 – I know a person who is interstate and can’t attend but wants to watch. We’re sure they’ll enjoy the racing after the meeting.

2 – it’s too expensive and I know a person who wants to watch but can’t afford to go. Sadly, if you can’t afford to do something, then you miss out. You see speedway isn’t a right that must be available to everyone, it’s a sport in which you pay to go watch. If that person wanted to go to the movies but couldn’t afford it, would you offer to live stream the whole movie to them? How about a concert? Would you complain to a fast-food shop about wanting it for free if they wanted pizza but couldn’t afford it?

3 – it’s all about the dollar. Correct, because it may come as a surprise to some that tracks can’t operate without money. Rent/rates, power, insurance, division payouts, maintenance, upgrades, they all cost a lot of money, and we get 10-15 opportunities a year to make enough money to keep operating. Could you pay your rent or mortgage if you only worked 15 days a year? So while we appreciate people are passionate about speedway, making us out to be the bad guys in the sport is wearing a bit thin. We run the track because we love it, not because we’re lining our bathrooms in gold.

So if your about to hit the send button on a post about any of the above, think twice, as our social media guys are tired and may hit the block button instead of the like button.
