News Announcement

For the past few seasons Carrick Speedway has had major issues with regard to the access and usage of our facility. It has been a long haul and until recently there was a real chance that this season, our 50th anniversary, was going to be the last.

Carrick Speedway Management have been working with Peter Gutwein (Tasmanian Treasurer) and Jeremy Rockliff (Deputy Premier of Tasmania) to try and find a solution and keep Carrick Speedway running.

In a superb show of support for speedway, Management met with Peter Gutwein who announced they will support our voluntary run speedway with a $50,000 payment to assist with maintenance and upgrades.

But, just as impressive and maybe more important is their commitment to work with the speedway and the Carrick Park Pacing Club to ensure all parties have workable access and facilities. This is huge boost to Carrick Speedway. The Management of Carrick Speedway feel like a weight has been lifted and that maybe we can see a future for our track that until recently did not seem possible.

Firstly, Carrick Speedway wish to thank David Jones, our resident coffee van proprietor for his assistance. Without his knowledge we would not be in the position we are today. Also, a huge thank you to Chris Kolodziej from Cranes Combined who has backed us and offered his assistance all the way.
